Sound of cat bypass with stock muffler, 3.2?

Wondering what to expect from the bypass pipe install, how it will sound.....

I noticed almost no difference in "loudness" or sound quality. Maybe a handful of decibels tops.

Same here. The sound is maybe a bit deeper, but not really louder. I am running a fabspeed bypass if that makes a difference.

Thanks. I'da thought it might be a touch louder (not looking for that) but figured a little "deeper" tone would be a real good thing. I guess I'm basically looking at maybe freer flow (a few more horses?) and more pollution....though my car has always tested super clean.

A little deeper, a little louder, no hp (the stock cat is plenty large and flows well), more pollution.

I put on an M&K on my 3.2. Probably a touch louder at idle, and not enough sound while driving to tell. I am not sure it makes any difference at all sound or performance wise - but it is definitely lighter than the cat, and a fun/easy project for the weekend. I am very happy with the quality of M&K.

It's cheaper than a cat, doesn't wear out like a cat, and lighter than the cat.

i put a dansk pre-muffler on my 3.0 and i am very happy with the results. at idle and below 2k it has a deeper tone but not really any louder. above 2k it sounds the same as the cat did.

But surely the more important question is whether you go any faster

Just installed an M&K cat bypass (pre-muffler) on my Euro 3.2 last weekend, and have not noticed a change in sound or in power (at least according to the highly calibrated butt-dyno)...of course I am used to '60's cars with very loud side pipes. When I fire up on of the small blocks I can't even hear the 911 running - need to fix that!

The install of the M&K took less than 1/2 hour and fit perfectly. The weld quality is outstanding.
