squeak behind dash

I have squeak coming from somewhere behind my dash. My car is an 82 SC that is light and sprung a little stiff. The squeak has been developing over the last few months and I finally have some time to track it down. It is not the door pins or the torsion bars.
If anyone can point me in the right direction to start tracking this down or had and solved this problem I would love to hear what you did as I can not reproduce the sound without driving the car and can not track it down while driving
Thanks
Steve

Could it be the dashboard itself? This did not happen to my Targa but on another car. The felt liner that insulates the dashboard to the rest of the body had worn out. I just glued more felt and trimmed the excess with a modelling knife.

I developed a creaking sound after having a new windshield installed. Lower right corner near the dashboard. Could something like this be your problem?

I'm sure you've checked for it, but how about the ashtray? I had a dashboard squeak I swore came from somewhere else, but after I sprayed the ashtray and its surrounding area with WD-40, the noise disappeared.

Good luck. Squeaks drive me nuts.
