Well said Jeremy. I really don't know why there are so many bitter people here. Mad because they didn't stick it out for these wheels? What is up with trying to make us look like fools because we opted to get a great wheel. Suckers, we are not. If one doesn't like this product, take your wallets and go home. I don't care much for many cars, that doesn't mean I haunt their enthusiasts' websites calling their buyers suckers.

tom84930 - why are you dogging Ed?

He's the first person that put his money where his mouth is and had the longest wait for wheels. He (as well as a few others) suffered through some teething processes of a new product.

You bought wheels from another vendor because you were not comfortable with the money up front or the wait. That's what people do - they choose.

So where is your dog in this fight?

And if Ed's a sucker - then I'm a 2X sucker (bought two sets and waited for both.

But really - if it wasn't for some of us taking a risk - and paying up front - there would probably NEVER would have been a Alton Fuch.

Well, what the hell, Ed. It's your money and by golly you can spend it however you wish.

The good news is that you didn't blow it on crystal meth. The bad news is that you didn't invest it on a class in English composition.

Green 912 01-21-2011 04:07 PM

I ordered a set from Jeff and they then changed hands to Z-house. The guys at Z-house did want they could and I got the wheels just in time for a long planned test and tune.

The wheels are light and have shown to be durable so far. Worth the money and wait if you have the time.

efhughes3 01-21-2011 04:17 PM

At least I'm not crying like a little girl.

Oh, I have forged wheels, and they are spectacular!

Well, Ed, your English composition seems acceptable to me - just in case you were concerned about that... :)

Why can't we just get along??

This should be renamed the "Seinfeld Thread". A thread about nothing.....

Hmmm...let me see. When you talk about "design and specifics", are you talking about the problem with broken bolts that some buyers have experienced with these brilliantly designed wheels? Or are you referring to the problem many owners have had keeping air in the tires on these amazing, astounding wheels? Or maybe the fact that the originally promised delivery time of twelve weeks stretched into fifty-two weeks for these beauties? Or possibly the difficulty getting phone calls returned? Or how about all the lame excuses and double talk concerning delivery delays?
Which is it, Einstein? Huh?

Hmmmm, let's see. I got the first set and have probably put these wheels through more than anyone else out there other than Jeff himself. 25 or so track days, not a single issue with air, and no problem with the hardware. Jeff exchanged the bolts for me and all my old bolts came out perfect. Would I risk my live pulling 130+ lap after lap if I thought there was a problem that might cause a tire to deflate? And keep in mind that I've mounted and dismounted r-comp tires 4 times too, again no issues.

Like Ed H, I love looking at them. They're currently sitting in my den, and I keep picking the 17x9 up marvelling at how light it is. Especially compared to the Kinesis wheel sitting next to it on the floor. Outstanding wheels, both in look and quality.

Am I a cheerleader for these wheels? You bet! Have I ever regretted the purchase, or the original wait as they were being developed, or the second set of custom centers as they were being machined? Not one moment. Would I be upset if I had to plunk down $$ today and had to wait an undisclosed amount of time to get them? Perhaps, but after 2 years of this discussion it should not be any surprise to anyone that the wheels take some time to produce. So if anyone's considering the wheels and doesn't want to pay in full in advance, it's a free country and you can buy something else, though there isn't a comparable wheel being produced by anyone in terms of look, quality and lightness. But don't bash the process if you don't have a horse in the race.

OK, now I'm done. I'll get down off my soapbox and go back to admiring the wheels, then back out to the garage to get the last raised spindle Bilstein strut and custom Tarett sway bar on the front of my car so I can finally drop it back down onto it's wheels after a year in the air.

tom84930 01-22-2011 06:37 AM

Boys! Boys! Come along now, it's time to stare at your wheels in dumbfounded wonder, and the KoolAid is almost ready!

Ed (Hughes)

I'd like to have an eye to eye talk with you about this. The only problem is it would take a colonoscopy to find your head.

I get the feeling, now, that Tom's just trying to bait you folks. Call me slow, or whatever. It feels almost as bad as Playa...

Yup. I've said all I'm going to. Now I'll go recover from the root canal I had done yesterday by putting a coat of wax on my wheels. And debate with Jeremy what width rim shells I might need if I go widebody on my car.

Or as Forrest Gump said- "that's all I'm going to say about that".

Buckterrier 01-22-2011 09:09 AM

let's hope a nice picture of the wheels ends this thread. With that....

Tom (if you're really Tom),

I enjoy sparring with the good folks on these forums and I can certain appreciate everyone's position. Here is what I find fascinating:

Post a good experience with a vendor and many people jump on the band wagon and describe their good experience with the same vendor. At no time does anyone post their bad experience with the same vendor on the thread (I call that pissing in someone's porridge) ... Good forum etiquette.

On the other hand, when someone posts a bad experience with a vendor, many people post their good experience with that same vendor in order to defend the vendor ... Not good forum etiquette. As a matter of fact, typically it leads to personal attacks on the character of the original poster.

What this leads to is people are hesitant to post their bad experience on the forum and we all loose. Many years ago I thought the information on these forums relative to the vendors that troll here was accurate and true. But, what I've come to realize through my personal experience is that the these forums are very biased towards praising vendors and any negative information is not acceptable to the "cheerleaders" or sometimes the moderators. To each his own, but I choose to listen to what people have to say and I certainly have no reason to attack them because they had an experience different from mine.

I say speak your mind, respect the point of view of others and there is no reason to get personal.

One more thing, my name is Dave.:D

Guys, you should really read dave's post again, especially the part about not getting personal.

Regards, Richard

I'm getting the feeling Tom's middle name is Dick.

A quick peek at recent posts by "TomDick" shows his engine has been at a shop for many months getting rebuilt. Hmmmmm, seems strange for someone who cannot wait for custom wheels to be built, and is being critical of wait times for some unknown reason. Seems like a hypocritical stance to me.

That is not to say there is anything wrong with his shop, it just seems to me that he assigns different priorities to waiting for aspects on his Porsche.

So, this goes back to the underlying questions here.....what dog does he even have in the hunt, or what axe does he have to grind with ZHaus? My guess is he's not coming clean. Now, I'm sure he'll reply with what he thinks to be a witty retort, but since we know he's not unbiased and posts stupid comments like "the sucker born everyday" referring to those who purchased these wheels and showed all of us here he doesn't really know what he's talking about with regard to these wheels, we'll all regard those comments as more crap out of his computer.

Ed,

Great job on the personal attack, you should be proud of yourself. :D

Two wrongs always make you right. I'd guess this thread will be closed real soon.
