That was always my plan and I had many people request pricing for the kit, but no buyers. It became clear to me that, although priced far below the price you would pay for any alternative, complete ITB arrangement( with ECU)..........what I thought was a fair market price for a complete kit, was too high for the market. Trying to find out some info about it all over the interweb now too as the TB's I bought. (Same as these) comes without injectors and I would like to know what to look for that would be suitable for the 2,0L engine of mine...;) |

Hebster....follow the link above to the Megasquirt site. On the left hand side of the page, you will find the link to the MegaManual. Click on the Injectors & Fuel supply section and scroll down to the injector calculator. Lots of good info here. regards, al PS: I used the injectors that came with the Speed Triple ITBs. They were rated at 26 lbs/hr (270 cc/min) at 43.5 psi. I sent these to WitchHunter to have them cleaned and tested. That flow rate will support a 6 cylinder engine at approx. 250 HP . |

What thickness are your adapterplates? Did your respace the TB's so they are the same as the manifold intakeholes? I guess your Weber manifolds are the same as my Zenith manifolds? If so the TB's need to be moved about 6mm from eachother to line up with the manifold holes. Did you keep the exit (lower end) of the TB's original oval or did you reshape them to more flow with the round manifold holes? Looks oval in the first page. I will probably come up with more questions when my project evolves.. ;) |

1. My adaptor plates are .50' thk (12.7mm). 2. My TB's are spaced to match the weber manifolds spacing. (same as Zeniths) 3. TB's are moved to line up with the manifold spacing 4. My spacers are machined oval on the top, to match the TB's port and 40mm round on the bottom to match the weber port....the transition in the spacer is very smooth and nice. Note: I thought that the metal around the TB port was not thick enough to be able to open up to 40mm round and still provide enough strength.....I tried it. regards, al |
Trying to figure out how you did the idle control
Did you use the Triumph original idle valve (or-what-ever-it's-called)? If I figured it out correct the idle control is connected to each TB at the tubes on the inside in your sets? |

I did use the Triumph Idle air valve. This valve is controlled by a stepper motor. Megasquirt has the capability of controlling this stepper motor, based on engine temp input. If I remember correctly, their are a few standard choices for Idle air control. I chose the Bosch default and it worked perfectly.

This is actually the 1st kit I made. i recently refurbed it, new PMO intake manifolds, etc and installed it on my test engine (2.7 w/SC cams) I've fired it up for the 1st time today and, while it does need to be dialed in and the ITBs need balancing....it does fire right up and sounds strong. regards, al |

My partner has a 1997 Triumph Speed Triple 885cc aluminum frame. It's got a full factory carbon fiber kit, and it is pretty bad a$$. He thinks that it's the $%*t that it spits fire out of the under seat exhaust. I think there's something wrong with it, but he won't listen to me. It's too much motorcycle for the average person though.

3.0 EFI/MFI/ITB w/megasquirt
This is my latest EFI project. This was originally an engine in one of my friends early 911s. i knew this to be a good running engine, but, he found that it had two broken head studs and decided to trade up to a 3.2. I decided to buy it and when i dragged it home, I performed a leak-down test The results were as follows:
1 = 2% 6 = 4% 2 = 16% 4 = 12% 5 = 6% 3 = 1% Hmmmmm.......I tore into the top end, cleaned and visually inspected all parts, measured P&C's, valves, guides, ring clearance, etc. Everything was in spec (low to no wear) and, other than the broken head-studs... in really good shape. I refurbed the top end, de-carboned the pistons and valves/seats, lapped the valves/seats back in, all steel studs, new gaskets, sealed it up and installed my EFI stuff. After wiring and plumbing....it fired right up. I ran it for about 30 minutes to ensure the rings would seat, etc and ran another leak-down test. The new leak-down test results are as follows: 1 = 1% 6 = 2% 2 = 2% 4 = 2% 5 = 2% 3 = 1% Those are the leak-down numbers you want...like a new engine. I spent a few hour today, tuning with Megasquirt.....working on the start & idle. Here's a link to a video.....of today's work. Check out the intake....Aluminum turbo spacers, machined for EFI injectors. on top of those are some aluminum spacers that I fitted with vacuum fittings..... on top of those, i'm using MFI t'bodies that I bored out to match the 3.0 large ports, and to top it all off ....some beautiful stax...............listen.....it is close to being done. regards, Al https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VeYQv8CvV0 |

I have build a similar Setup but have some isues while cranking. IT takes several revolutions before the engine Starts. In you Videos they Start immidiately. Can you Provide some Information about your cranking settings? Thanks in advance. Michael |
Michelko, is the FP check valve installed and working correctly? Have you verified the fuel regulator pressure?
