What Whale tail do I have HELP

This is a fiberglass whale tail with a rubber lip it is bonded to an"aluminum" deck lid,, Questions were they all bonded to a metal deck lid .. were some steel and Aluminum deck lids? this has a black steel piece bolted to the lower 1/2 of the lid on the inside, that piece is shaped to make room I think for an air compresser

the rubber lip is in poor shape does the rubber edge that **********sells for a 1965-89 Carrera Tail fit this tail does Pelican have this rubber edge/ does anyone hav a nice used one I am new to this site so forgive me in advance if I have made any mistakes here

To me it looks like a early non intercooled tail for a 1975-1977 930 ...

I believe it is called a Carrera turbo tail. Purchase one several years ago and still in storage.

You sure it's aluminum? The shell would be the consistent with 76 turbo but the removable metal cover - black part- would have been from a non turbo car. The support that has been riveted in the center is either a repair or added on.
On the rubber, only 75 Carrera, 76 or 77 turbo or 80 Weissach will fit.

On my Weissach, I have that same support. I just re-assembled the tail last week.

Thats a strange one, here is a thread that documents some of the different early whale tales.
The original OEM tail thread collective documentation

And some more info in this thread on the last 2 pages.
Value of a 1976 2.7 Carrera

The rubber your looking for is out there but be prepared to be patient or pay.
