Hmmm, these pics were taken *after* I had cleaned up. In reality, I'm just one of you guys with a digital camera. That's all that we (Tom and I) have every billed ourselves as. It's easy to hide or diguise yourself behind pictures that you pic and choose for the website.
Anyways, the truck and BMW are just temporary visitors, as I need the two-car spot there for the photo booth for the engine (remember, engine book?). The SC is on casters, you know, those metal roller things that you can place the tires in and then push the car around in your garage. Very useful, although I would recommend getting someone to help you push, as my back still hasn't recovered... The house is in Redondo Beach, around the corner from Hermosa, and as you can see, we don't have too much space here either. Still it's nice to be able to store 3 cars and still have a 2-bay space to work on books and stuff. The 911SC, unfortunately, is about 95% completely back together from being nearly disassembled for the 101 Book. It drives and runs very well, but it still needs the rear window installed, a few remaining pieces of carpet installed, the heater system put back into place, and a few other minor things. I unfortunately have my plate too full right now to work on it, so it had to go into storage... ![]() -Wayne

I was thinking for a moment that Wayne might have had a pair of midgets on standby, to wander in under that roof and wheel em out for him! Now that I would be really impressed with! ![]()

Indeed, this is an interesting motley crue of autos. I really love the Pathfinder - it is what it is, and doesn't make any false promises. It has hauled many a Porche engine, and the carpet shows it (dark interior though).
The Beamer is the wifey's new gift, and also the project car for 101 Projects for Your BMW 3-Series. I anticipate some complaints later on this year when we have to 'share' this one. The 356 is my backup driver. Needs some work, but what 356 doesn't? A 40+ year old car always has something that is breaking on it. I just hate it when the stuff I fix breaks again. The 911 hasn't recovered from 101 Projects. I need to go through the car and have it painted. The 914-6 conversion is my favorite of the bunch. Not the best looker, but it is the fastest one in the stable, and also handles the best of any of them (kicks the 911SC). It's so well balanced, and it's a very low-mileage original 914, so there's not much rattling and/or slop in the suspension. I can't wait to get the 911S motor back into that puppy. ![]() -Wayne

I hope I'm not replying too late to this posting about my husband's 5 car garage. I just signed up to be a part of your discussion so I could announce to all of you that we (oops, I) am having a garage sale! I'll post the details when Wayne not watching!

Hey Wayne, when is the next book "convert your old barn or warehouse into a 30-car workspace with lift" coming out?
I suppose it's every red-blooded American man and womans dream for fourty acres and a mule. (If not that, then a reeaally big garage with kitchen and bath attached.) ![]() metal, stone and glass.....forever |
