911 SC script.....

My euro delivery 911 SC cabriolet build sheet, shows it leaving the factory with a whale tail. It also lost the 911 SC scriptm on the rear decklid.

Does anyone have a picture of an SC with a tail AND rear deck lid script?

Not that I care all that much, but MOST of the unwashed think it's a much later model.

One would assume because it is such a beautiful example of the finest Porsche ever made....but getting a script and setting them straight would be nice.....

I have an SC script if anyone needs one. One of my neighbors gave it to me; I think he was offended when I didn't disgrace my car with it...

Mike,
A quick look at pg. 40 of the '74-'89 911 Authenticity book (Mark S. Haab), mentions *all* models could be ordered with insignia delete as a chargeable option. This should appear on your build sheet if the missing emblem originated at the Factory.

I can't see driving around in a SC without the insignia.
It's a Badge of Honor!

Doug is correctomundo, emblem-delete was an option, but I never really understood it; not like these cars came with an excess of identification crap on them. Was a popular option w/ turbo-looks, for obvious reasons.

Now here is a question I've been meaning to ask around here: does anyone know if rear SC emblem on my '82 was originally black? It has a cool sort-of bronzy color which could be from sunburn or originally like that? Anyone have a garage-queen/ concours SC and can tell me? TIA.
