Another "through the bumper" exhaust

Here is my attempt at a "through the bumper" exhaust lash up. I'm not sure if I think it looks too Rat Roddish or ricer. May have to attempt refinement or elimination. Thought I'd post pix anyhow. I used two separate mufflers. Internal chamber design dictated tail pipe placement.

Needs some flames shooting out of them to look complete.

Nice work.

OK, I am encouraged

Appreciate the encouragement. I believe I may like it after all. As all 911 and 930 owners know, nothing is ever really finished. More pix attached. Mine is not as nice as the job that TurboChad (Pelican name) did but I wanted more of a hot rod look. 3.6 will be going in this summer. Like him I cold rolled mild steel into circle for the ornamental fascia that is positioned in the 4" holes cut in bumper. The circles are held in place with home hacked out brackets (see pix) that bolt to older wide bumperette holes. I also slotted two pieces of exhaust tubing to insert into two separate mufflers in order to cut down on the raspiness of the mufflers on decel. The sound is pretty mellow but comes nicely alive under full throttle. Final cosmetic touch presently in progress is adding RarlyL8 un-cut lower valance (very nice part, excellent gel coat). Thanks for the interest.

His Pelican name is TurboChad. Excellent work on his part - very "Downtown."

"Three Fingers" Reminded me of the Castro district in SF.
No firsthand (so to speak) knowledge of course.
I'd rather thing of whiskey when considering three fingers.

Wow! To quote from my younger days... Killer! Really nice work - to be used as inspiration for sure! How did you handle heat shielding?

Very cool. Nice to see others picking up the idea. Looks good on a wingless car too. We need to get some pics of the car at night with the license plate lights on the tips.

There is still more aesthetic possibility here and more configurations to explore. Some day we can have a thread for all the through bumper cars.

Cheers,
Chad

Great work but not something I would do to my car.

Just can not get with the stove pipe tail pipe thing or the through the bumper thing.

However, a factory style rally or sport muffler makes me smile.

But that is me.

Viva la difference.
