"Search" is your friend. I think you will find that Henry is beyond reproach.

x2. Supertec is one of the good ones. Seems to be very honest and reputable as well as very valuable to the forums.

Henry is awesome. You will have no trouble dealing with him. He's fair on prices, and does work you can count on.

Henry does great work, offers good advice, has reasonable prices and a true rarity actually got the work done when he said he would.

I give Henry a 5 star platinum rating. I bought a '71 engine case from him for my '71 914-6 and he was absolutely the best to deal with. As my six moves along for restoration I hope to do more business with him.
BTW, the case came packaged as if it were going around the world a couple of times first. Very nice precautions taken to make sure the case arrived undamaged.

He built my engine about 7 years ago...not one problem since. The engine outlasted the car (wrecked) and is in another one...and still runs perfectly. It is a screamer.
He is a great guy as well as an incredible asset to the 911 community. He can/will build exactly what you want for a reasonable (if you can say that about Porshes) price.

-1 for Henry. They build me a 3.4 that lasted about 1500 miles. 3 intake valves seized causing an engine fire that severely damaged one of 46mm Webers. Upon tear down and inspection it was found that the guides were not sized to the valves. This was confirmed by two different mechanics. Even though Henry kept saying we back our products, we'll take care of you, yada yada yada. His response was "mine was only the second motor he had fail in 20 yrs of business." Also not quite true as I've read a few other posts from customers who've gotten less than banner service. He implies integrity right up to the time there is a problem. While this happened a few years ago, being out $15,000 for the motor from Henry, plus $10,000 to have it rebuilt by a local shop still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
People do make mistakes, the test is do they have the integrity to step up to the plate and fix it.

We have a couple of Supertec engines, a 3.4 and a 3.2. The 3.4 has a lot of use and has been solid, the 3.2 hasn't had that much use and hasn't had any problems either. Supertec also built a G50 transmission for us that worked great for a lot of miles.

Supertec and Henry are great. I ruined a couple of his studs and he sent me two replacements for FREE. not too many who would do that... he also provides alot of free advice. GREAT!

Check the Engine rebuilding forum. Henry is very active over there. I think his posts will indicate what he is like in person.

I have a Supertec engine in my car and the engine and service from Supertec was stellar.
Gumba, just so we're clear: you had a problem with your engine and Henry refused to fix it? You sent it back and he said what? Although I don't doubt you had a bad experience it really sounds like your experience was not the norm.
