Some more developments at the body shop...

The left front was really in bad shape and had to be rebuild.

Things are getting better.

I also decide to change inner and outer rocker panels... just in case. At the same time, I've been told that SC type rear flares would not be accept on SWB FIA specs... has to be stock or ST type. That is under Group 3 specifications - I don't know if this kind of car car compete on group 4...

Ok, let's look at the trailer!

Just passed by the body shop and the front section is partially ready.

Hera are some low quality photos of the developments but enough to see the work done.

Next stage is going to be the reconstruction of the sills - both sides.

New panels are already at the body shop: outer and inner sills and the front wing joining panel.

Both sills have lots of repairs badly done that hide the originality of the tube.
All the details are going to be recovered.

This is a great project! I do hope you resurrect it in its original Irish Green color. I wished that my car had an elusive rare color under the black paint, but alas, it was always black, haha.

Love to see another one saved. Good job!

Thanks Giovanni! Is it yours?

By the way... Did you get my PM? I just wanted to clarify what you were asking me.
Let me know when possible.

it is not my car .... (and notice that it is a LWB) ... but I like it very much

fortunately I own a similar car

I like the wheels too! I think your car would be fantastic with the "montecarlo-style" wheels

In the PM I asked if you can send via-email a copy of the fia certificate for your car... I would be happy to exchange it with the certificate of the rs 3.0 that I already have on pdf on my computer

bye

giovanni

Well, second stage on the body repair... The sills.

Decided to change all the panels, since this area is critical and I have seen some pictures around, relating some serious examples...

But... Surprise!!

The area inside looks like this:

Before this, I decided to give it a good clean, seal it (POR 15 or zinc primer) and close it again with the previously bought new panels (inner and outer).

I hace already the SWB rear flares in order to delete the SC look ones.
Now they are working on the front part of the body.

Rear flares will be next...

Now it is starting to look like a SWB!!! I am really happy with the work at the body shop...
