Brake help!

I just joined local pca club..i know it took me awhile my bad, meet a wonderful bunch of people to boot, had a great time this weekend at NJMS track, my question is i would like to run my car every now and then at track but use it mostly for street, what are a good set of pads for my car, in which is an 86 930 with RUF BTR motor, so got the power but need the stopping power now, is it better to get upgraded calipers and pads or are the 930 brakes what they really say they are? help needed please, also what brake fluid should i use..please tell me types and brands of both..thanks

Turbo brakes are great, make sure you have cooling to them, use the best fluid you can find like the Motul (sp) racing type. Pads? Paget have a good selection from street to full racing. Those are really good brakes.

for only occasional track i'd stay w/ what you have. The 930s are very good.

use a good track pad, like Pagid yellow and if you find the fluid boiling uses SRF brake fluid(ore equivalent) not everybody needs something as good as SRF but if all else has been tried and fluid still boiled it's probably the best.

do try to get as much air to the rotors as you can, scoops work well

Once in awhile track?

Closet racer like me

OEM pads Textars, Host also sells the Blue or Gold Racing brake fluid.

You may also consider changing the tranny fluid after track time, per Tony Callas.

Be ready, track will chew your tires up like bubble gum
