Decode 915 serial number , pls
Can anyone decode this tranny number for me?
9153811021R Is it a mag or alum case? 7:31 or 8:31 R&P? Thanks

Mag is sort dull grey aluminum is brighter and more silver.

Looks like you posted a casting number. The serial number is on the very bottom of the trans and, for a 76, should start with 716xxxx or 766xxxx. If your trans is a stock 76 then it is a mag case. (AL cases started in 78). Start with the serial # and re-post that for more accurate info.
