starting issue
My 83 911 starts fine when cold, but if I go somewhere and then it sits for like 15 minutes or so, it has a hard time starting. It just turns over and over and finally catches but sputters and sputters and then in afew moments starts idling normal. Any thoughts?

Residual fuel pressure.......
Kramer,
Check your residual fuel pressure. Two (2) common culprits for this kind of problem are defective FP check valve and fuel accumulator. The FA is very easy to test. For the FP check valve test, a fuel pressure gauge is needed. Search for 'residual pressure' and you'll get to know how the test is done. HTH. Tony |

Hello There:
Same symptoms as I had one (1) year ago. It is the fuel accumulator that is causing your grief, especially if it is the original. Mine was, but still, that is awesome when you think of how long it lasted. German engineers can cheer now! Good luck.
