Cant see out rear view mirror...what do you do?
I cant see anything out my rearview because of the roll cage.My instructor got in the car and went to adjust for his drive and said thats not good at all.Leaving me with only side mirrors to use.Im assuming this is normal?Do I lower the mirror on the windshield? Is there a product or something?I was prepared to just get used to it, but he made me feel like it needs to be fixed.

Look into Wink mirrors.....the standard attachment for the mirror will never come off when you want it to...I've seen some that crack the windshield.
Vehicle Codes require either "functional" dual outside or a single driver and center mount mirror.

Dang man.....what's that cage of yours look like?
My roll bar doesn't hinder my rearview vision at all. ![]() ![]() That said, when I used to club race my car, I also had one of those Wink (5 panel) mirrors as well. Took a little getting used to, as is shows you "so much" of what is behind you. Needed to learn how to filter thru all that visual info quickly while on the track. ![]()

if your at the front or at the back, you don't need a mirror.

As stated earlier... Turn the mirror upside down. The mirror will suddenly be lower.

You can remove the puck from the windshield by holding a lighter under it, flame not touching the glass or the metal.
Put gentle pressure on the mirror while the flame is under it, it will come right off in 10-15 seconds. Clean up the puck with a razor blade and alcohol. Get the 'heavy duty' mirror stick-on glue at auto parts and glue it back on where you want it. Glue the puck on, wait 24 hours before you put the mirror back on the puck. That's how my pro windshield guy moved the mirror to the new windshield, and I've done it a couple times since. Last edited by tcar; 05-10-2011 at 03:26 PM.. |
