Through no direct fault of my own...... I have aquired a ?78 Targa that is almost completely redone, but needs the late model electric top installed. The targa bar has been cut off, but no plate installed. I own an '84 Cab, but am not certain that the new top or the old targa match my car. Does anyone have a pattern, or know where I can get such so that I can complete this project?
I am also quite curious about the schematic for the top controls. Or....does anyone want a red cab with a loud red and black interior? (RS motor is not yet complete or installed). |

So you have the electric top, but it's just not installed, or you need the top? Has the windshield frame been mucked with yet? The early convertible top will fit right into the early targa windshield header, but the electric top won't without work.
I'm in the middle of doing the research on this. Check out http://www.vintagebus.com/howto/cab

Great detail in your pics!
Thom, the pics on your site are worth a 1,000 words....thanks. Also I can't beleive the cost of the top conversion site you listed...ouch. I think I can make the brackets now that I have seen them. I have the top which is on the frame and has motors attached. Thanks. I'll post pictures as I progress.

euro-tek has the brackets cheap. 714.549.3211. you can't use the electric top without changing the inner side panels so the gearboxes have a place to sit, and the rear vertical panel where the motor is mounted.

The brackets from EuroTek are $200 a set. The factory brackets are $355 - each! I decided to 'skimp' and have them cut the ones out of the car you see in the pix.
