Heat not really working now?

I plugged all my wires back in after putting the engine back in.

Double checked to make sure that absolutely the heater box flaps were opening and closing. They were not adjusted right so me and my friend adjusted them.

First day I was going "HOLY MOLY! i have heat!"

Now... i barely feel a thing and it smells bad, almost like exhaust. Really strange...

CorsePerVita,

Look and see if the wire cables at the heat control ‘flaps’ have slipped.
There is a specific sequence of the nut, washer, sleeve, wire and barrel.

What was done to the heat exchangers while the engine was out (painted, cleaned, left out for rodent nests, etc.)?
It may be you will need an extended drive to ‘burn off’ something.
It may be the heat exchangers need to be removed for cleaning.
Is there any chance (unusual) the heat exchangers are so rusty there is an exhaust leak? If so, don’t drive.

Best,
Grady
