"ok, it's figured out. i got hold of loren at systems consulting, to whom i send electronics. he suggested a reference sensor test using another sensor attached to the engine plug for the one that's already mounted on the engine. while cranking with a starter button, wave the sensor over a wrench so it pulses the computer. started right up, roughly. i waved the sensor over the wrench a couple more times and it started running good. sooooooo,"

Wasn't necessary to continuously wave the wrench:
"i waved the sensor over the wrench a couple more times"

Then the timing was set properly and the sensor was no longer necessary.
You CAN NOT continuously attempt to set the ref point as you can never
CONTINUOUSLY align the necessary ref point, i.e. It occurs at every TDC at
idle (840 RPMs) at the rate of 14 revs per second or 14 ref pulses per second
or about one ref pulse every .07 seconds. That's impossible for anyone to do.
It is possible, though, to do a momentary waving by the sensor to attempt
to find the right timing synchronization. Once the ideal point is found,
no more waving is necessary and the engine runs without the ref signal.

Loren, you said the reference sensor is only needed at start up, and that after startup only the speed sensor is necessary. You were trying to refute my point that no signal from the reference sensor after startuo introces a misfire condition. It appears that you were wrong AGAIN!

You don't like to admit that often times your posts are imaginative fancy, and not based on real world observations. For example, the time when you designed a fuse circuit to protect the dme against overvoltage, based off of the dme relay, and then you posted it on Rennlist. OOOPS!, the dme relay is downstream of the dme! I can dig that little gem up and post it here too, if you like.

That correct!! Have a reading problem???????

Wrong again! It's upstream. Look at the wiring diagram.

Gentlemen:

I really appreciate all the input information each and everyone of you have contributed to this thread, BUT IT APPEARS THE THREAD IS TAKING ON "PERSONAL FEELINGS AND BIAS". IN OTHER WORDS GETTING OFF THE SUBJECT MATTER OF INFORMATION I FELT I NEEDED FROM MORE INFORMED MEMBERS!!!!!

I do not want this thread to take on anymore "personal feelings" which is taking away from the original intent.

Thanks for the information and suggestions given thus far but I think I will end this thread here and now.
