Hello, all porsche fanatics,I have a 76 911 and after its sits for a few days, it seems that most of the oil runs into the engine.I would like to know if thats normal and second if if affects start up. Any advice would be highly appreciated.By the way it seems to run great after start up.Thank you

Some, but not most. The level of the oil in the tank is the higest point in the system, oil will trickle back through the oil pump. Some times more than others due to variances in the stopping position of the oil pump lobes. Breathers also offer acess but are too high). If the tank is overfilled then oil will be forced through the breathers into the combustion chambers causing smoking at start up.

That is what causes the typical 911 puff of smoke upon startup. A little oil will drain down in the horizontally opposed cylinders.
