Woo nice seats!
|
Those are the K16's which are only sitting there to enable us to mock up the exhaust.
The larger turbo's will be going on when we do the final construction... Thanks everyone for the positive comments on the build... If you have any great ideas to throw into my idea's list please let me know... |
Great build, my 78SC is very envious
|
Looking mega! That's a great build. Can't wait to see more photos!

James what model of Recaros are these?

Nice build. Jim's shop does great work. Do you plan on coming here to see the finished product prior to shipping it home? If you time a visit properly, you could take it out on the track here in Phoenix. Jim has had customer builds out there for testing and evaluation. Fun to see, for sure.

The only upside is I'm going to be in a better timezone to talk with the US. |
I take it then that you won't be in Sydney with the car :(
Pity - would love to have seen it down here. TIm |

Paint - Update
So I have some updated pictures of the build process...
starting from the top down, you can see the car in final preparation prior to getting painted, and in the last two photo's you can see the final color. I understand that the car is getting the inside painted today. After that's done they can finalise the rear of the car (QTR's, roof etc)... I'm hoping to be able to share a painted body picture this week... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1322006297.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1322006317.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1322006327.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1322006340.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1322006353.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1322006366.jpg |

Got some color
Hi guys,
So I got some photo's with well, some color! Unfortunately its not a fully assembled car, but it is some great shots of the paint on the car. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1323117411.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1323117424.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1323117438.jpg |
great news!
|
So, having posted these I have just got off the phone from Scott @ Patrick Motorsports. He tells me that the color looks better in person, and they are working on finalising it all ASAP. I'm hoping to get a couple of pictures with a entire body perspective in the next day or two.
Hopefully the car will be all assembled by Jan, and I can head over to the US in Feb to take delivery (at least in Phoenix) before I start the process of trying to get it back to Sydney and road registered... |
Color is awesome, and it looks like guys at Patrick really know how to.. well, "rub one out!"
It really Pops after the wet-sand and buff! Congrats.. what a Christmas present!! Paul |

It's back in the shop for assembly
So today I got a couple of pictures of the car after heading back to the shop to get assembled.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1324101561.jpg I think the plan is to get suspension and fuel / brake lines etc pre - xmas, however there's only a few days left, and I'm sure that there are other projects which are almost ready to go out the door (And I would want them to be prioritized), so not sure where it will be before the holidays. The color looks awesome, and I can't wait to see this! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1324101750.jpg |

|
Putting it all back together...
So the New Years brake has been good to my project....
I just got some updated pictures from the guys over at Patrick Motorsports, who have worked really hard to get a lot of work done in the reassembly of this beast. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1325823004.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1325823015.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1325823025.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1325823035.jpg A lot of work was done in the preparation stage of this to run all these cables and ensure that it all fits first time, without a problem. It would seem that this is enabling a relatively quick reassembly. I'm very excited... |
