I'm sure you won't be able to import it to AUS. You should probably just sell it to one of us Yanks.SmileWavy
Seriously, congrats, thats the car many of us have always dreamed of building. Please keep us updated. |
Looking forward to seeing this in person one day when it gets here James. Really an inspiring build, didn't you have another one you were getting done at the same time for the track / Targa?
Cheers Al |
Keep the pics flowing this is great....

I have a 1973 which most people wouldn't have bothered with. It's just waiting for some seats and then its ready to go! Carbon Fiber Qtr's & Guards to help reduce weight, G50 etc... They are going to live in NZ first... will make it easier to come back to Aus |
James
Here are some targets for you - Easter (end of March) at Mount Panorama for 3 days of Regularity Races. OR 25/26th May 2013 at Eastern Creek for the Porsche Cars Australia first ever Rennsport Gathering - about 300 cars to race over the two days plus factory museum cars coming as well. A Porsche lovers dream weekend. Tim |
What a beauty ! I love your work , thanks for sharing

Nice build, yeah track/ rally only is probably the best bet for getting it in
I don't think the TT's are gonna fly at targa haha I know they have a upto 5liter class (I think it might be classic muscle only too) which that 3.6 with the turbo penalty (1.7) blows out of the water. Pretty sure Targa just races under the CAMS rally rules (which are pretty standard WRC rules) Mothy def gonna have to make it out to Eastern Creek in May!!! I'm really hoping to make Targa this year, still need to source a ride though :( Also good to see the hometown hero's work on the bird! Beautiful car! edit: Seems they do have over a 4.5l class, but i don't know how the modern engine is going to effect your regulations, could be ok!!!! I'm hoping you are! |
Progress...?
|
sub'd,
this is truly an amazing build, i cannot believe i havent seen it till today! keep up the great work! |
Progress is slow
I've been slow in updating, however it reflects the slowness in which the progress is taking...
There are little things which have taken time to resolve and get fabricated. Re-worked exhaust layout and an additional heat shield for the rear bar... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1355650848.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1355650863.jpg Its all now sitting a bit higher and looks a lot better, but the big thing is that hopefully we can deal with the heat adequately now. |
One of my favorites here! Love the dry look without unnecessary bling blinghttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/pray.gif

This car is my dream car.

Sorry for the delay
HI All,
Sorry for the extended delay in posting. I would love to have got more up here, but I have been jammed with work, moving house etc... I have four new pictures for you all... The car is pretty much finished now... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1365929743.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1365929760.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1365929774.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1365929791.jpg SO... there it is in all its glory! Now for the help I need from fellow Pelicanites... I'm a NON-RESIDENT of the USA. I don't have a house or daily car in the USA. I would like to get "collectable car" insurance but this is pretty hard from what I can see. I have rung about 3 places so far (Geico, Progressive, Haggarts?) and they don't allow a collectable policy for a non-usa citizen who doesn't have a everyday car in USA. When I travel to the USA I typically rent a car and plan to then drive the Porsche on a couple of small trips. I'll ultimately ship the car out of the USA. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO MIGHT DO THIS? I need to register the car in Phoenix AZ. THANKS FOR ANY HELP IN ADVANCE! |
Stunning....literally stunning.
