I would'nt be surprised.
Tried to post a picture of my engine stand the other day and got this message saying only paying members can post.
Who the hell is going to pay for something you get free with every purchase of pictures on disc?

I just tried the site and it won't come up. Last week, I found the pictures I had up there wouldn't display. Instead they were replaced with a photopoint message.

after investigating I found that they had decided to limit all non-paying members to less than 10 pictures. and if you exceed that they would not display your pictures, instead replacing with the message I got. Thanks for telling me, photopoint.

I pulled all my pictures off.

Looks like the timing was good, I'm guessing they tanked.

I thing that Ofoto will do most of the same things. And it's now owned by Kodak, so it might last longer. It's also free.

The one thing I think it's not set up for is 'hosting' pictures (like you'd use to show them here, if Wayne hadn't started supplying storage space). Let me test it by posting a picture from one of my albums:

Does the seal show up for everyone?

Yeah, not a good way to host a picture.

Great for storing, sharing and printing digital pictures, though.

Here is the scoop on photopoint (or lack of a scoop since they aren't explaining), these paragraphs are excerpted from an article in the wsj today.

I would say get your photos off there and find a safe place for them, like the pelican site.

==============
The Web site for photo company PhotoPoint Corp. is back online, after abruptly shutting down at about 3 p.m. EDT Thursday, July 12.

A spokesman for the company said he hopes to have a public announcement "in the next day or two" that will answer questions about the future of PhotoPoint and its Web site (www.photopoint.com).

PhotoPoint didn't give members any warning about the shutdown and, as of late Monday, hadn't provided them with any information about the resumption of service.
