it almost didn't fit...
every year my best friend and i throw a huge party for the 4th, usually around 70-100 people, including a couple local kids charities. we go all out with things like blow up water slides, a dunk tank, swimming pool, water balloons, etc etc, very kid oriented. for the adults my friend owns a microbrewery so we always have lots of great beer on tap. one of the big draws, and my personal favorite, is the fireworks show.
due to health reasons the last few months have sucked for me so i am really looking forward to this year's celebration. as a result we went a little overboard and broke the $2k mark, not even thinking about the fact that i drove the 911. after removing all the big mortars from the boxes and getting very creative we fit it all inside the car. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() those big ones in the footwells are 4000 count strands of firecrackers - they go on forever! hate the mess they make but it's worth it in the end. the owner (and every employee there at 2am when we finally finished shopping) came out to see if it could be done. like so many other times this lead to a few porsche stories being swapped and 35 mins later we were still talking. just as we were about to get in the car the owner asked us to wait a minute as he walked back into the store. he came back out with a camera and asked if he could take some shots of the packed car for his store. of course i let him and after he was done he gave us another $350 worth of big ticket items (2 to be exact) as thanks for letting him use my car in the promo shots. made for a nice end to the trip ![]()

Sweet, but that Bon Jovi song "Blaze of Glory" immediately popped into my head when thinking about the drive home!

I have you beat.
Did you ever carry a personal treadmill in a Porsche 911? Even a convertible?

Hey Mark. We have just under 2K that we picked up from Indiana ready to go tonight (plus beer, food, corn hole and there's usually an outside movie set up). I'll talk to you about it at Archers (or call me if you can't make it to Archers but want to stop by).
OP, I did take the 911 to make our run but they packed at the goodies into a van that came (it was a nice father son bonding event for a few of us on our street). ![]()

If you want to increase the interior space in the car it is pretty easy.
Anybody got a match? I think we can expand it pretty quickly!

What a great story! Post pics of the party and the fireworks show. My question is how were you even able to see out of the car to be able to drive?

Great Fun....
Be safe, and no drinking and driving in that German version of a "Cherry Blossom" - that really made me laugh before I retired for the evening......
