81 Steering column issue
I have had this 81 SC for about 8 weeks and now that the weather is nicer and I have a bit more time I am driving it more and finding more things to be done.
Today while driving around I noticed I am starting to get some play in the steering column... not the steering but the column is starting to have some play - mostly up and down. Is there a bracket or something that bolts it in that may be coming a bit loose... A bit worrying. Can someone post an exploded view of the steering column/steering system suggest a good on-line source I can use for such knowledge. Thanks. |

The plastic race on the bearing is broken giving slop at the steering wheel. This is the part you need and its about $12.00. 928.347.739.02
Using a pick, clean out all the broken race you can then slip this in and tap it home. Bruce |
