Yes it is, but if the Dansk is rather loud and annoying, it's worth the $150 or so dollars more for the peace of mind. One thing I have noticed is that some Dansk owners have found the Dansk the quietest of the different mufflers they tested, (those being B&B, Borla, Bursch, FVD) however its seems that some owners are unaware that there are Dansk models that are sport mufflers and models that are baffled as OEM. There are stainless ones that are OEM replacements, and primered stainless ones that are also OEMs, but some may have it confused with the sport models, which have bigger tips and are much louder. So I think there may be some confusion here. I will get a better idea next week when I put the Monty on and have a SSI/Dansk sport owner give me his opinion.

I just want to hold back on costs. As Richard said I still have the original system in place. So to me price is important. For you the Monty is a solution.

APKhaos

The Dansk muffler 930.111.043.00S doesn't seem like an OEM. It's shown in the catalogue with an 84 mm tail pipe. Beside it is shown a muffler with 60 mm tail pipe with a paragraph saying "(Original)". So that muffler must be the OEM version. It's listed with 3 part numbers: 930.111.043.00OE which must be the OEM for Porsche AG and 930.111.043.00 as normal stock. The third is stainless steel and number 930.111.043.00INOX.

Sorry Mikkel. I thought you were considering a muffler for SSIs.

steve, you've done your research!!

interesting comment about the dansk not being stainless on the inside , sort of defeats the object........

i wasn't aware of that and assumed i had a muffler for life.........now i know why they get louder with age........

Richard, I didn't confirm it myself, that's what the guys at SSI told me. They said if you run a magnet along the side of the can, it will stick heavily whereever there is a steel baffle inside.

I had a monty dual-in/dual out on my 2.7L for some time. Not nearly as loud and obnoxious as the B&B I have now! FWIW, I could still hear fan noise over the exhaust.
