Clicking sound in drivetrain

Has anyone had this happen? When I take off I get a click it the drive train. Then when I reverse I get it again. Only happens once till I change forward to reverse. Wonder if it is a CV joint or lose axle. Any other ideas?

Thanks for all input.

Could be a loose caliper / brake pad - clicks as it moves to one side, everytime you change direction.

Check the CV joint bolts. They are known to come loose unless torqued perfectly (without getting any grease from the CV joint on the threads).

I will,
Thanks you guys. Had a Porsche mechanic put my tranny in recently, but never know. Not worth not checking.
Cheers

Also check the torque on your lug nuts.

Well I checked the axle bolts & lug nuts. They are all tight. I need to be more specific in that it would only click once in reverse, then once in forward. not a continuous clicking. Could it possibly be my LSD? I just had the tranny rebuilt & the diff clutches are all tightened up.
Thanks again.

My car does that, too. CV bolts are torqued to spec. I've written it off as normal.

yes check the cv bolts
i had one backing out and made the same sound as a rock or nail in the tire. it was half way unthreaeded and hitting the e-brake cable where it comes into the back of the hub. all the others on that side were below torque. the other side was all to spec.
