when i released the decklid it FLYS up hard, way to hard, and shakes the whole rear of the car

i tried to remove one side gas shock, but it pushes one side up...so i removed both for the time being,...

I have one on there, but I have to check. Im sure it being old helps it not be too powerful.

See if you can find a slightly worn out shock. I had the same problem of the the lid flying up too hard with a brand new one. The hood shock on my dads 912 was starting to wear out. We switched, he took my new one and I put his old one on my car. The slightly worn out hood shock works perfectly on the fiberglass tail

shock

I just have the one and it is aged but pretty sure it is a standard shock that I bought here a few years ago. Works fine for my duck, a little strong but not a problem and does not shoot up too hard.

I have one weak strut and one broken strut.

I purchased a replacement from our host, very good price btw.

It arrived yesterday but it has so much resistance that I'm wondering if it might damage the mounting points in the FG. I didn't think about the resulting impact when it is released.

Maybe I will walk around at the next DE and see if I can make an exchange!

I might even get it installed for free

I'm using the stock gas shock. I don't like it - it props up one corner too high when the lid is closed.

I may go to the seine systems prop.

Seine Systems' product is top-notch. Keep in mind that if you have a/c (like me) you will need to install it on the RH side of the engine lid.

Cheers

d.
