Broken chain ramp
Just curious...........Anyone ever see a broken chain ramp in their cam timing chain housing? After I took the cover off - I found this piece of plastic........it was a quarter of a chain ramp(The lower left one) I shined a flashlight down there and the rest of it.........is gone! The studs the ramp fits on to have lite chain scratches from chain slap - but the chain looks fine. I think some how the wrench who put the update kit on a few years ago cleaned out the other pieces........but never put on a new ramp. Who knows? As I went through my receipts a few days ago ......I noticed they bought 1 new chain. I thought "why would they only buy one new chain?"

That's scary! A disaster just waiting to happen!
Before ever running that motor again, I'd get out the tools and Bentley manual, and fix those ramps ASAP. And while you're at it, be sure to check the health of the tensioners. (Lot's and lot's of info in the archives on this topic.)
