weber IDS operation question, help please.
does anyone know what RPM the high speed enrichment tubes start flowing? they were stock on a 2.0 so obviously it would be a different rpm for different size engines, but I can do the math if anyone can give me a number for a 2 liter. any input much appreciated. Don.

I just finished a set for Ed Mayo for his 67S and at his request I soldered the inlets for them shut. Prior to that I believe he said they were becoming active around 6500 RPM.
Best I can tell these are good only for racers using high RPM power or for prolonged runs down the Autobahn. The IDS carbs and their high speed enrichment tubes were not used by racers (the 46mm Webers didn't use them, they had the tall aux venturis which precluded their use) and as an aftermarket item these tubes were not available with new Weber sales. Weber DCOEs have high speed enrichment in that air flow past the accelerator pump nozzles draws fuel out at higher RPMs.
