Richard: There is no need to calm me down or chill me out. I don't post to either please or piss off one particular member. I post my opinions -- that's all they are -- so they can be available to any and all the readers of this board who might benefit from them.
I'm sorry if you took my post personally. However, I saw a dumb idea (turbo'ing an NA motor without lowering the compression is a dumb idea, US or Euro compression) and I called it as I saw it. I try to distinguish between criticizing an idea and criticizing someone as a person. I used mild, non-adversarial language, like "caveat." However, I vigorously disagreed with the content of your first post and cautioned other readers that such an idea may be inappropriate for their application. I have no regrets for doing so. Again I mean no insult by attacking a technical proposition, but if any members of this board don't like my opinion, they should try to remember how much they paid for it. |

I just noticed that no one(except KTL) really responded to your original question. There is some info about the swap here with additional links at the site,
3.6 swap info

Bottom line really is HP/$. $22,500 for 260hp is ludicrous; new Honda mini-vans have 240hp for chrisakes! I would expect at least 6-700 reliable HP for that figure!
I can't pretend to understand your attachment to this particular car, but you can buy the 3.6 w/ the car it came in for less than this figure in CA. ![]()
