Cigarette Lighter socket insert
Saw a thread in the past 6 months that showed an "insert how" to for the lighter socket that allows use of modern equipment. Did not bookmark and now I need to do this..anybody ??

try radio shack or just use some duct tape on the plug

Get a cheap replacement lighter socket from walmart...this will be the American size.
All you want from the piece is the steel sleeve. Cut off the electrical connector on the back and it will slip right into the european socket. This fits perfectly and gives you the inner dimensions you need for your car adapter to work fine. The thing I have used in a pinch is about one half of a business card folded over and jammed in one side of the adapter... Rich |
