Cold weather projects?
Now that the driving season is wrapping up for most of us, what are your winter projects going to be? I've got brakes to replace, exhaust to upgrade, oil change and valves.
What about you guys?

I got new parts for the tunnel fuel lines and CHT.
oh yeah, one more oil leak to track down - it could be the cooler seals.

Fix hard-to-get-to small air leaks in back of air box Put my Boxster Brake upgrade kit back on with Porterfield R4 pads. Replace flex brake lines. Install cross drilled rotors on rear (have had them for a few years) Adjust valves Replace one leaking oil line at engine and maybe the two at the front cooler (I see little cracks and some slight seepage) Respray driver's rear quarter with 22 line - (I can just see primer through paint in the right light in one area - the area easiest to power buff :-)) Decide what to do with original leather seat bottom on drivers side. Showing age and stitching is coming apart Have steering wheel recovered professionally Targa top to Dan Pechtel and get the correct front and rear seals. Fix center vent plastic feed tube gasket - only rattle in car (when the top is not on) Lift front end a bit. I over did the lowering a few years ago. Alignment. Better align door windows New carbon canister hoses Passenger window motor replace Have fuel pump rebuilt and replace check valve. Put Schnorr washers and moon plates on CV joints. |

Adjust valves, install new valve cover gaskets, replace the fuel filter, repaint my wheels. If the budget allows, I really want to rebuild my steering rack. I've maintained it but wnat to get it apart and do the full boogie on it.

FWI, the windshield needs to come out for headliner removal/installation.
I need a new one but it will have to wait until I need a new windshield.

Headliner.......
Not just the windshield. All of the glass (except door windows) will have to be removed. If you are doing the job yourself, get several boxes of the black metal spring clips (normally used for paper). With the clips, you can position the headliner, decide if it's "right" and adjust where necessary. Then, take one section loose, apply the contact cement and clip back into place. Repeat until each edge is attached. One of the last jobs will be to cut in the interior lights. Make certain that you are cutting in the correct place! A mistake here means starting all over again. The sunroof inside cover will have to come out which usually means removing the sunroof panel. Last, reinstall the glass using new seals. The side quarter windows will have to be reinstalled by inserting the front edge first and then roping in moving towards the rear (pointy end). Be certain that the outside window trim does not pop out of the rubber seals. Good luck!

Carrera footwell blowers. Finished this yesterday in my nice warm garage. My SC now has hurricane force heat and defrost. This is a cold weather project on multiple levels I think.

Left over of last year Winter/Spring/Summer (Dec-Aug) projects...
Full brake job (lines, disks, pads & shoes); Short Sift Kit (to mate with the new clutch & flywheel); Cosmetic (new piping & belows); and maybe Cut off muffler switch ( but (apparently) the SSIs & 2in/2out combo sound so good that I may wait until I see the blue lights in my mirror. So far so good
