Question Another Newbie question

What are the 2 spark plug cable retainers called (blue arrow) that go across the fan shroud? I was trying to find the part on our host but couldn't...name? part number? This is for a 3.2L engine
Thanks

I got rid of those cable holders recently when i dropped the engine as i found that the wires were chafing against the fan housing ...
Kind of like the cleaner look and the wires are now isolated from any metal contact !

Cheers !

it is a good idea to keep the wires physically separated to avoid inductive cross firing. that is why every car uses separators or looms (usually only a 1/4" apart or so, but Porsche goes overboard and keeps them far apart).

I was under the impression that the wires are carefully separated to limit crossover.

But what do I know, I ask you.....

Friend of mine has been running his 84 like that for years with the OEM Beru wires which are probably even less shielded than the 8.5 mm Magnecores and he never had any issues ...

After seeing his setup this Summer,i decided to try running the wires through rubber clamps and everything seems good so far !

Cheers !

+1 isolating them is the better way to go especially when the jackets starts to age.

I like Phil's look, but only with good, new wires, of course. Seems odd to me that all people think about is the 'induction' between wires, which is real, but...... Nothing ever occurs as regards the metal surrounding these things...... ??? Good insulation on nice modern wiring always wins... Cheers!
