My 2 cents worth. Check to see if the Under hood light in the back is shorting you out. My car's previous owner had cut the wires and just tucked them up into the edge of the engine hood. My second problem was to back to electrical 101, I checked with a continuity tester to see if I was getting juice across the fuse at the fuse box. I found that what looked like a good fuse was not transmitting electricity, I changed the fuse and it has been working ever since.

Thanks. I know the fuses, stalk, and relay are good, they are all new. Its just a ground out someplace from that wire. I still need to check some other wires mentioned in this thread. I appreciate the help.

LIVEVIL, What year is your car? Do you have the schematic wiring diagram?
The only green wire with yellow trace on my '78 to '83 diagram runs from fuse 6 bottom to the low beams.

I had a similar issue when I got my car back from paint.
It was the way the bulbs were seating or the incorrect bulbs. Once sorted out there were actually no wiring issues. As always not sure if that is your issue but hope it sheds some light ![]()

Similar Issue
Same twist - with turn signals not working but emergency working however I noticed that with the vehicle turned off that I can get a solid turn signal (ie no flash/blinking).
I was wondering if that points more towards the turn signal switch being bad? |

Here are some quick ideas in the meantime: 1. Is Fuse No. 11 good? (I'm assuming you have an SC). A quick check is to see if your back up lights work as well. 2. If yes, is there power at connector no. 49 of the Turn Signal Relay socket? 3. If yes, then chances are the relay is bad and is the problem.

My car is a 82. I am going to take out all my bulbs, check those connecttions and see if I am still blowing the fuse.

I've been having the exact same problem for a while now. I looked around for emergency lights but could only find stuff like this emergencylights.net
Can someone please help me find the right type of emergency light replacement?! Last edited by EmergencyLight; 05-04-2012 at 02:49 PM.. |
