911SC is oxygen sensor system required to run properly? can I delete??????
I putting an 82 SC engine into a car that has the oxygen sensor removed. Do you need the oxygen sensor system? If I don't, do I just not connect it and what else do I do?
70 and 71 911s sure are easier. thanks Marlin

Doesn't need it, but not sure what else needs to be done on the CIS system if you are keeping all the other stuff.

O2 Sensor....
I have run my '80 SC both with and without the oxygen sensor plugged in. It did not seem to make any difference in the fuel mileage and the engine can be made to idle better with it unplugged. If nothing else, you could use the port for a wideband sensor to feed an air/fuel ratio gauge, etc. If you are in an area that requires emissions inspections, you probably will have to leave it in place.

you absolutely need the computer, O2 relay, frequency valve and the wire loom for it to run properly. as for the O2 sensor plugged or unplugged, try it both ways and see which one you like better. or change to a 78-79 fuel distributor and WUR.

I found that they run better when the system is hooked up and working, but if you delete it you may need a '78-'79 ignition distributor.
