Factory Tool Kit

I am not a concourse guy by any means; but it appears that I have the original tool kit that came with my car 35 years ago. Can anyone confirm if I have all of the tools, or if any tools were added? Some of the tools seem to have a chrome finish and others don't. There was also a white nylon block with a hole in it- any idea what that is for? I am assuming that is not from the factory.

My apologies for the fuzzy black berry picture.

These factory tool kits are pretty nice and fairly comprehensive if you think about it - the days that the manufacturer provides such a nice addition are long gone. I remember seeing a photo of a late 60s Ferrari tool kit - almost as beautiful as the car!

Even your contemporary Lexus or Acura only supplies at most a jack and lug nut wrench. Granted, the days of doing roadside repairs on a modern car are pretty much behind us. Just curious, anyone have a picture of a 996 or 997 tool kit?

Man am I glad racer_X asked about this. I knew I was missing one tool but wasn't sure which one. Looks like I was missing a lot more than I thought!

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

Well whaddya know? Makes sense though as the PO also had a 944. I guess there is a 944 owner out there with a 911 toolkit!

I have another just like it available now. Perfect.
Ditch your mis-matched set, which does have a few good tools in it, but also a few things that just don't belong and many missing things; buy mine, and you are set forever. True story. PM me for details, I can email more pictures. Lar

PM sent, very interested in this kit.

Cheers Al

Maybe he was "interested" but just not at your price. . .

Oh, and thanks, Racer X for posting, I'm trying to build up a kit. These kinds of posts and the accompanying photos are very helpful.

Sorry Nesslar, I've seen your ads for tools. Too rich for me. . . .I missed the SC one for $50 in the Classifieds. No need to rush. . . being patient.

But I'll give you $75 for the one Al didn't buy (at $75, he will want it, for sure!). Good luck with the sale. . .

Hey N, I don't post here anonymously, come out to Colorado and "knock me down" I'm easy to find. I show up at the CO coffee and cars regularly, looking forward to meeting you!

Hahahahahahaa!

Don't take stuff so personally, my man.

I liked the bag, and for the right price I'd deal with you again. But seriously, why post the stuff about Al, comes off a bit, well. . . . .you know. Coulda taken it easier on the poor guy. . .

Nice complete tool kit like that, you'll find a buyer.

Al knows I'm just pulling his chain, man; he and I had many fine communications. No need for you to disect and criticize for no damn reason. He may well buy soon; not your concern!
Oh, sorry, Winter, meant to point out to you that I wrote, 'negotiable'...................
You may have missed that.

Hi Lar, as I said in my email thank you for the information and I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions but I've decided to wait for a bit. I have the car in for a few other upgrades and I want to see what they are going to set me back before going ahead as it is quite a major upgrade to the car and we have found a few extra items we need to address that weren't in the initial budget.

I will let you know once I get the car back and have paid for the work if I am still able to afford the toolkit at this time.

I apologise if this has put you out in anyway but as I am sure you understand sometimes unforeseen expenses occur during upgrades.

Cheers Al

I know. That's why I 'smiled" and added in a 'LOL' before....I just will never understand the gang gettin' on me when it is none of their business. For you, I hope the kit is still available, and of course I understand what you told me, both before and again now. Still, it will remain available, as you always knew, to others or to you, as you yourself indicated you understood in our previous communications. Lar Touch base anytime; will see what happens, mate!
