Tom,

I do love the 540, but the rarity and uniqueness of the UrS4/S6...(I think less than 3500 total came over here from 1992-96) and the modification potential always piqued my interest...add to that the Quattro and to me it's the perfect daily driver. I have always wanted to own cars that I wouldnt meet on the highway often (my first car was a 1953 Chevy Bel Air in 1985), so it fits the bill for me.

That being said, the 540 (mine's an E34 with 237k on it and in great shape) is very fun to drive, quiet and certainly can get up and go when needed...I've been a fan of that car for a long time as well and picked it up for a song at a dealer who had no clue how good it really was, he just saw the miles...
