Do I have to use an 8K chip in an 8K 3.2 DME?
Or can I use a 4K chip too?
I know I can easily remove the "B700" jumper but if I don't have to, I'll leave it alone. Last edited by Tippy; 01-29-2012 at 06:37 AM.. |

If you install a 4K chip...you might not get the entire program.
Besides that...the number and position of 4K verses 8K chips may not be the same (power, ground, input and output pins). Not all chips go by the same rules. Bob

Thanks Bob. I assume finding an 8K chip will be a pain? I might just put it back to 2K and call it a day but wanted the better maps for the next guy.

Yes, but remove the jumper.
