engine shroud treatment?

anybody have a line on a recondition of a 30+ yo fiberglass engine shroud? looking to dress it up a bit while the motor comes apart. figure powder coat would crack with the expanding n contraction of the thing. what have you done to dress this up.?? links to interesting threads you may know of on the topic are welcomed.

Is it possible to powder coat a fiberglass shroud? I thought powder coating worked using an electrical charge?

How about cleaning it and then poliching with some fiberglass polish? Maybe some rattle can paint.

Glass should be prepped and painted at a paint shop no powder coat.

i believe they make them like a boat hull, colored gelcoat on first then fiberglass chop. If you are careful on the sanding you can get back to the original color, wax and polish or clear coat like Al says should do it. If there is damage or the fiberglass strands are coming through, time for paint.
