removed ac- ride hight changed????

hey guys,

today I took the ac and everything to do with it in my 81 911sc. once everything was said and done and I got the car back on the ground I noticed the car looked a lot higher in the front than before.
my dad and i sat on the front of the car which lowered it a bit- however right now it sits around an inch higher than it did before I took out the ac,
so.... did i do something when the car was lifted in the air? i really cant picture the ac making that much of a difference in the front of the car.
i did not mess with the suspension but i did take the front protective plate of the car but installed it back when the car was on the ground-

any help would be great

Have you moved the car since jacking it/lowering it? The suspension could still be "extended" from lifting the car off the ground.

i did not move it- but my dad and i weigh 400 lbs together and we sat on the front bumper and it lowered it a bit- but its still around an inch higher than it was-
I was thinking the same thing thats why i had us both put weight on the front

Jumping up/down on the car ain't going to do much. Take the car for a spin and see where you end up. Measure ride height before/after.

Even just backing it into the driveway and then back into the garage should do it.

I did the same thing along with heater back date and removing the cruise control. That was almost an inch height increase at the rear wheel arch. So yes, that is as expected

That's what dint make sense- the rear is fine- I had to leave town- I'll get my dad to take it to work or for a drive- then report back

Oh man! I missed that you said the FRONT was higher! ...yeah, that's a puzzler! On my SC everything for the AC was in the rear (except for the blower motor in the smuggler's box), so the weight was almost all out of the rear of the car.

when Bilstein equipped cars sit on a lift the shocks take a set in an extended position, drive the car and they will reset themselves.

the entire AC , lines, compressor, condenser etc only weighs ~31# most of it it the compressor, heard to imagine any difference in ride height from that

the ac was around 75lbs.

alll and all I lost around 300lbs so far, i lowered the front end last week, looks like i need to lower the rear- because of this I'm going to upgrade torsion bars soon to get the car back down
