Next up for the Rat was acting as a carriage for our wedding the day after Thanksgiving in 2011. We drove the Rat to the beach for a small ceremony with our parents. My awesome mother in-law (the same one that shops at Pelican:)) took a bunch of paparazzi style shots of us on the drive to the beach. My dad and I polished the Rat for the pictures and added the appropriate wedding touches. The next two pictures are leaving from the house

The next pic shows the sign my mother made and a certain sticker that should more than make up for ordering the hot start relay from Zims

The following are four more pictures with the last one being the standard good luck shot leaving the beach after the wedding and champagne at sunset! The flowers were attached with 40lb fluorocarbon snook leader!

Over Christmas we had my entire family living in our house for three weeks (A total of 10 people in a modest 3 bedroom house) so I waited to start the restoration of the Rat until the start of the Spring semester 2012. My wife is a saint for putting up with so many crazy Germans in our house for so long!!

Very cool!
What a great thread! Please be sure to bring the Rat to the 12 Hours of Sebring this year. I'll be hosting a Early 911S Registry get together on Saturday March 17th. Hope you can make it!

Once the family left and the semester started I figured it was the perfect time to paint and restore the Rat. My wife is a PhD student at USF and commutes so I am alone on Monday and Thursday nights and figured it was the perfect semester to get going on the Rat. Here are a few pictures of day 1 of the disassembly

On the first day the neighbors kid, Noah, came over and asked if he could help with the car. I immediatly checked with Obi Wan and he said I was ready to face the Porschemaster trials and therefore I was able to take Noah on as my Padawan learner:). Sometimes my apprentice waits for me in the driveway after I come home from a hard of teaching and is just itching to work on the car. Having an apprentice is great motivation!

After Day 1 I realized that I would need a few more tools for the job. Here are some pictures of what I have to work with. I got most of my stuff from Harbor Freight and put together my garage based off of the advice from many wise Pelicans.
