Today I ordered new seat belts for the front two seats. The original seat belts are starting to fray and needed to be replaced. I hope to be putting a new driver seat in within the next week or so and figured it was the perfect time to replace the belts. The belts I got are from Wesco Performance.
3 Point Non Retractable SeatBelt They are 3 point non-retractable and I got them with the old style chrome buckle. They are made right here in the USA in Florida:) I got them in flame red to match my RS door pull handles and I am planning on replicating the set up in this thread. Thanks for the great advice Emptyo http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/736096-seatbelt-options-69-no-built-holes.html Getting retractable belts for a 69 would have involved using the rear seat belt attachment points, which essentially makes the rear seats useless even for kids. The other option would have been to weld in an attachment point and retrofit the interior trim panel below the quarter window. I did not prefer either option and kind of like the old style non-retracting seat belts. The next project for me is planting our garden and then I will be starting to fabricate my seat bracket :) |
I made some progress on my seat install today! I got some later 911 sliders mounted on my Corbeau seat and was able to cut and drill the steel for my very own home made adapter.
Test fitting the sliders http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1377897775.jpg Sliders attached! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1377897816.jpg Working on the steel pieces for my adapter. I used the advice of Emptyo to use a punch so I could start the holes in exactly the right spot. I also used cutting fluid which made the job a lot easier. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1377897906.jpg All that remains now is to weld my adapter frame together, weld in seat belt attachment points, rattle can, and install into the car. |
Wow nice job! I was on-line looking for a Porsche 911 in slate gray, and your thread popped up. I bought a 1968 Porsche 911L back in 1979. I still have it and yes it was slate gray. 911L is sitting way to long. need to get it back on the road.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1378135640.jpg

Hi Louis.
You have quite a beautiful car! Shoot me a PM with your phone number as I would love to chat. The shop that did my paintwork was great and I know they replace panels and do welding work. Maybe we can get together with our cars sometime since you are so close? |
Thanks,I sent you my cell phone number
