I'm Still Alive...

I have not posted in quite some time, so I just wanted to come on and quash the rumors of my retiring into a deep dark cave with lots of women's boots to keep me busily engaged! In looking at some of the posts, looks like a lot of new faces, so not everyone reading this may get the boot reference...

Some of you were aware that we have been dealing with an illness that left my wife bedridden for most of the last 2 years. This would be bad enough, but compile that with the fact that 6 of our 7 children are still at home and teens or younger, let's just say, I can at least say none of them have turned up missing during this time, and I consider that an accomplishment! I also refrained from selling any of them on that online auciton place we don't typically like!

My wife had been to 3 different high-octane endocrinologists around the country, and despite numerous prescriptions and tests and what not, she still was not improving. Finally, a researcher looked at her case history and figured out she had been misdiagnosed this whole time. She has a condition called diabetes insipidus. Has nothing to do with diabetes, but everything to do with hormones. She just got back from a trip to a specialist in France of all places, and a confirmation came from that. Still, more testing etc goes on and hopefully one day soon, we will be able to start saying "remember when"...

Did not mean to throw a long non-tech story in here, just missed you guys (well, some of you anyway). With everything above, I sold my car to a great guy out in Seattle who is giving the first year cab it's just due in the up-fixin dept, and hopefully the roads around that area will hear her engine roar soon.

Anyways, just wanted to wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year and hope to be back in full force among you sometime in the future. As you will all ascertain, more important priorties right now for us.

Before I sign off though, just one last comment for now - SC's still RULE!!!!!

MUUUUUUHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep the shiny side up!

Oh, man, Shane - Like a lot of people here, I suppose, I've wondered what was going on with you, and - frankly - feared the worst. I'm very pleased - no, thrilled, is more like it - to hear that there is at least progress with respect to your wife's condition/situation, and can only hope that 2012 brings a resolution. In the meantime, yep, SCs rule! Happy New Year!

Hey Shane, I not only have the badge, I have the shirt! We will not soon forget your attempt to wrap your steering wheel with the leather from women's boots

All the best to you and your family in 2012!

Hey Shane its good to hear from you. And it sounds like 2012 may well be a turn around year for your family, sure hoping so. Good on you for not losing any of the troops while mostly on your own.
Wow , great to see your old car coming along so beautifully ( way to go Juergen )

Any way thanks for touching in, that sick laugh has been missed. Keep us posted on the progress.

Cheers Richard

PS SCs are the under values gems, hope it stays that way

Juergen, the car is looking great. Did that guy ever get in touch with you about the fasteners for the top? He had a bunch of brand new ones just sitting around.

Thanks everyone else. Happy New Year!

Welcome back!

Shane, although you don't know me welcome back! I was wondering where you went. I am glad to hear that it sounds like things are moving in the right direction with you wife.
My '78SC proudly displays the SCWDP badge! I will be on the lookout for your old cab out here in Seattle.

Oh and by the way, congrats on not loosing one of the kids!
