For those interested check out what is called a "slip sheet" technique for installing typically laminates. By using a non glued piece of material between glued/prepped materials you can locate exactly what you are going to glue together with contact. Line the pieces up / remove carefully the slip sheet or partially remove it and begin making your piece contact. Folks who do alot of veneer work can get those diamond shaped pieces to fit truly anywhere.... or vinyl/leather interior Porsche parts.

The headliner is glued/clamped to the frame surrounding the sunroof opening. This supports the headliner enough that it doesn't sag. When the interior dome lights, coat hooks and sunvisors are put back in it tensions the headliner even more. It's not actually firmly up against the roof except around the edges.
Trickiest part was the rear corners near the parcel shelf. There are wire rods that are used to tension the back corners and they have to be sewn into the headliner
