My Books arrived

From browsing the Forum I compiled a list of books I will start reading to get my knowledge up on Porsche engines. I don't have one a P-car yet but I want to make sure I know what to look for and ask the right questions when a prospect car shows up. I placed an order with Amazon on Wednesday and they were delivered on Friday.

The first one on my list is "The used 911 Story".

p.s: If you have any other book suggestions let me know.

Benny

You're on your way! Have fun reading and shopping. By the way, the author of The Used 911 Story drives an SC (sounds like an endorsement of the breed to me).

Benny,
First, Welcome to the Forum
May a fine ‘new’ 911 be in your future.

Here are a few threads for your research.
Without doubt, Karl Ludvigsen’s ‘Porsche: Excellence Was Expected should be your next purchase (see my comments in below links).
Porsche 911 Book Thread

1968 911L Basics

The Porsche Book: The Complete History of Types and Models, Barth & Busing '09

Best 911 Book Reads

Haynes Manual Garbage

Learning about Porsches

Please confirm this is the factory manual

When you have your ‘new’ 911, here is a good idea:
Personal Car Specific Manual
Not only will this get you an easy reference for your 911 but just editing it will help you gain an education about your car.

Randy’s comprehensive list:

and
Porsche 911 Book Thread post #13.

Our host has most of these books in stock and probably can beat Ama*on.
The few books I can't sourse from our host, I use Pelican member Toad Hall MotorBooks, specializing in Fine Books on Mercedes Benz & Porsche since 1980; Welcome.

When you think you are ready to start searching for a car, research the many threads on this subject.
There is a lot of good advice.

Again, Welcome!

Best,
Grady

BTW, my comment:
The first one on my list is "The used 911 Story".

meant is the first one I am going to read, since I am barely searching for a P-car, I want to get familiar with the car and what to look for.

I took a look at your books and they are outstanding. Your books will come in handy once I get the car and my hands are all over it.

Thank you Grady for all those useful Links.

I thought "The Gold Plated Porsche" by Stephan Wilkinson was a good read, and very humorous for a new Porsche owner.

Do get (in addition to the Bentley) the factory manual from EBay, on DVD...they're out there.

Stephan's book was a good read, too!

Best,

Doyle
