kach22i 05-16-2005 06:33 AM

Kach is the first four letters of my last name (nickname), yes there is that "catch 22" thing - gotta be crazy if...................and 22 one of my favorite numbers plus my birthday.............the "i" because "kach22" was already taken somewhere, and the Aerius "i" by Martin Logan is one of my favorite loudspekers (own the original Aerius) - named after my father so I guess I'm an "i" too. Also "i" is used in poems and such (old English) to refer to oneself.

kach22i = Yes that's me and I'm crazy so that means I'm sane - aren't we all?:D

I have to be crazy to love and own this car.

BRPORSCHE 05-16-2005 06:42 AM

Well I live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and I love porsches!

drummer323 05-16-2005 06:44 AM

Played drums virtually my whole life. Neal Peart of Rush was my greatest "Mentor" along with Larry Ford who was the Percussionist for the Ft. Wayne Philarmonic whom I studied under for several years. I normally use 2112drummer as my handle as that album "2112" in my opinion was one of Rushs' best works.

RickM 05-16-2005 06:46 AM

Ahhhh, 2112....good stuff.

MARTIN AIDE 05-16-2005 06:54 AM

I don't take much of anything, especially myself, too seriously. Anything for some ridicule or a good laugh.

scarletbegonias 05-16-2005 08:41 AM

My favorite band, spent 1980-1995 following them (175 +/- shows)

gatotom 05-16-2005 09:14 AM

translated...gato=cat, tom=tom put it all together and you get tom cat.

Name has been with me for too many yrs, came to me during my days of youth while shredding snow in the mountains and of course tearing up one of those many P-cars.

Ahh, the good old days when you could buy P-cars all day long, used for 3 grand.

zymurgist 05-16-2005 10:57 AM

Zymurgist is an old username that I first used when I was madly brewing beer at the rate of one or two batches a month (zymurgy being the art and science of yeast fermentation). I haven't done any brewing of my own for some time, mostly because the Mid-Atlantic is full of great craft breweries and all I have to do to enjoy their product is to pour it out of the bottle. I am still fascinated by the technical process of brewing beer... every time I take the Clipper City (Baltimore, hon) tour, I think of a new beer-geeky question to ask the owner.

GIBSON 05-16-2005 11:18 AM

Got my first guitar in 1965, it was a Gibson. Got my first 911 10 years later. It's been guitars and 911's ever since. Just couldn't think of a good 911 user name so went with Gibson. Now I mostly play Martin's but Gibson just sounded better. I'ts also my old cat's name. He's the color of a sunburst Les Paul.
I remember years ago searching the rural Pennsylvania countryside for old Martin guitars and found a race 911 in somebody's back yard. It had Martin Guitar sponsorship painted all over it. Looked pretty good as I remember -back in 1976.

I love bag-pipes. They make me think about my first wife's funeral. She's not dead yet. It just makes me think about her funeral!!!

TerryH 05-16-2005 04:16 PM

... think my parents wanted a girl when I was born. Two of my friends wives are named Terri. I like my name, but there are better ones.

My oldest sister named her daughter after me. I was 14 at the time and wasn't sure if having a niece named after me was good for my masculinity or not. Of course now I couldn't be more proud.

LCE, Too funny!!

Brillo 05-16-2005 04:36 PM

It's actually the SC's nickname. It looks to me like someone tried to wash it with a 'Brillo Pad'. The original owner must not have known how to use a power polisher. There are swirl marks everywhere and on a section of the ridge on the front hood/boot it went to metal  The clear coat is starting to go as well.

It looks good in most photos. Which is a lesson that photos can be very deceiving.

I'm probably going to have it painted this year. Although it has been nice not to be too worried about rock chips and dings.

If you look close at the top and especially the door you can see the swirls.

Plays with cars 05-16-2005 05:45 PM

... don't we all?

Some claim I never grew up, especially when I wear my "still plays with cars" sweatshirt.

Hayabusa 05-16-2005 05:59 PM

TomTurtle 05-16-2005 08:17 PM

"Turtle" is similar to my last name and was my "tactical call sign" when I was in the Navy. Not my favorite image but you have no choice in the matter so I kind of got used to it.

Porsche Doc 05-16-2005 08:48 PM

I own a Porsche restoration, service and racing shop.
I have saved many a Porsche from the grave in the last 30 years.
We repair our customers sick Porsche's and you usually need an appointment.
So I thought it was appropriate.
Great thread guys!

DRACO A5OG 11-11-2007 11:18 AM

Hmmmm,

DRACO = Dragon, I was born year of the Dragon, my given name literally means "Kind Dragon Shine Bright".

A5OG was added because someone had DRACO but when I searched could not find the member. A5OG = Member of a Paintball Forum and MilSim Scenario Club. Yeah, I like shooting people but not killing them :D. It is actually a very intense activity/semi sport. Lost weight playing 8-10 hours straight trying not to get shot. It does leave welts

Icon = I liberated the pic from the Hannibal Lectur Trilogy "Red Dragon". No, I am not a Canibal, yet. I also have a Chinese Symbol/Character for Dragon in Red on my back

Wow  I just realized TMI

LOL,

I hope to see you the latter part of TG weekend!!

Ouzo12 11-11-2007 11:43 AM

I thought about using Wanting A 911 Very Badly but that was way too long. So to hold me over until I can park an aircooled beauty in the driveway I chose Ouzo12. Its a fav. drink of mine and it reminds me of all the great times from visiting family in Greece. So until I get rid of the officespace gig and get myself a job that makes some decent money I cant use SuperCarrera just yet( that one is probably already taken)
