Bourgeois - my last name and French for "middle class", so both are appropriate. I forget what the 911 stands for but it meant something at the time.
|
htron = my last name spelled backwards (just hold your monitor up to a mirror and magically it will appear). Has nothing to do with a certain low tech high tech movie from the early eighties (although that movie was pretty cool in its day). 435 = HP rating of the '67 corvette coupe that's been in the family forever (yes it's a real one). Torque is good. Unfortunately if you read the whole thing backward it loses its meaning entirely. 534north. Sounds like some sort of coordinate. I should just stop now. .

Milt (zeke, formerly milt, whatever) -- I actually think this is a great thread, 'cause I've often wondered the same thing about some of the names here. |
Say it out loud. It was a vanity plate on a '70 911T I had years ago.
|
 No hidden meaning at all--it's the name my parents gave me!
|
people from Texas will most likely get it. 75 was when I graduated
|
Gigem Aggies!!!....., Well onto my meaning.....Once upon a time I dabbled in the commodities markets......
|
SxS is the abbreviation for side by side or double barrel . I started hunting with a single shot and went to a sxs some time later . Hunting friends started calling me SxS .
Same user name on ebay , all gun forums and car forums . Sig is a knock off of the Have gun , will travel ( Paladin TV show ) Wife works for an airline so I fly free , and I might have more than 1 firearm ;). Also thought about O/UMAN or over/under man but......well.......that just sounded too gay . And in my best Jerry and George voice "Not that there's noting wrong with that !!! " SxS |
As you all no doubt know already, Cerberus is the mythological three-headed dog that guards the gates of hell. As to how I got the name... the less said the better.
|
This is funny as it came up a few times this weekend at Palooza. I had a few that swore I must have stuck a v8 in my 911 cabrio. (on a side note, one showed up at the event, and oddly enough, had one ofthe biggest crowds around it)...
So, mine (v8_ranch) has nothing to do with motors really... v - my last name is Van Wey 8 - number of persons in our family (me, wife, 6 children) _ - only a placekeeper, no real significance that I know of ranch - we had acreage up in SW Montana. At the time we only had 5 children... I told my wife, we should go ahead and make it 6, that way we would have the 8 people and thus, we could call our place the v8 ranch. I wanted to use the old Ford flathead v8 logo as a ranch brand up at my gate and other places... Now you know the rest of my story... |
Longtime owner/driver of a 1923 STUTZ Touring car there fore the name!
|
When the 930 doesn't have me under its spell in the garage, my other love is music; my family not withstanding. From hardcore punk to reggae to indie to classic rock, even some metal and alt country...my taste is extremely varied. I also see a lot of concerts.
My user name comes from a favorite band, Morphine. The lead singer's name was Mark Sandman. From the very first moment I heard them, I was hooked, I felt an immediate connection with the band's sound and direction. Sandman died of a heart attack while performing on stage in Italy. I guess I've always been a bit broken hearted about it, so I keep the name as a reminder. |
part of first name, middle name and last name. Funny, works out to be some cute little rodent type thing
|
First name Scott. started the name Scott540 when I got my 95 BMW 540

It's pretty obvious...

"Wife works for an airline so I fly free" nonrev used to be a good deal until they started flying smaller planes and filling them up.

Not about the Sex Olympic Games. Just talks about my ´69 sportomatic...

01sport is the model of my 740i. I started on the BMW forums and got hooked on working on the 7. Then my 87 3.2 wouldn't start. My problem is that come saturday morning I don't know which to work on. The 7 or the 911? I tend to obsess on one of the other. I'll tell you this though. The Porsche always bites me when I work on her. It makes my hands and back hurt. Always at least a one band-aid/two advil job.

Hyperactive child, and the nickname stuck.
|
Onboost...
78 930 Petrol Blue/Cork No, it ain't stock! P- |
I'm a pilot and a rudderboost is a part on an airplane. I've always used screen names that describe parts of an airplane- specifically the tail for some reason!
I'm surprised to see so many pilots and people in aviation on here. There must be something with flying and Porsches! |
I am a "Bah Humbug" kind of guy when it comes to christmas, and a curmudgeonly Kraut to boot, so when I was working as a test engineer way back when I got the nickname Burgermeister Meisterburger...I even have a figurine of said character, ironically given to me as a christmas present, sitting on my desk at work.
The Robot Santa from Futurama is more my style ... "Merry X-mas everybody!" :) |
It just keeps running through my mind...

A tadpole changes into a frog....and that is what i'm trying to do with the car. Change it from plain jane and have a Bullfrog. Before and after shots.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1194918818.jpg

uh... where I come from we gig bullfrogs
... where I live now, we hate 'em 'cuz they kill off the native frogs (& fish too) |
I think the name is obvious First name, Last Initial and the Car
I remember standing on a street corner in Kenora, Ontario where I grew up when I was 12 and saw my first 911. Ya I know must have been a small sheltered town. It is just like the commercial says. "For some there is the decade or two between knowing ang and having a 911." or someting like that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRbzJ0L1Zn8 It took 24 years of dream'en and scream'en to get me one. |
"fast eddie" is my nickname from skiing exploits, but was already taken as a user name. "fast_e" just didn't grab me. I wasn't very creative at the time, I just wanted to log on as a real user, not a guest. I didn't want to be a "girly mon" so I ended up as "fast_e_man"
|
Wow,
This thread is so old, my user name has changed. Now "the secret" is that my user name in MY NAME....... Cheers |
911SC- self-explanatory and 520 is my current area code/area code where i bought the car
|
Remember the old days….before proper radar detectors….. we ran fast using CBs and Fuzzbusters? I drove a lemon yellow turbo VW (Porsche Can Am inspired) and one of my fellow engineers suggested Cop Bait as an appropriate CB handle. It stuck.
I haven’t used my detector in years……I suck! Marty |
my first name and some of the letters from my last name
|
I have an addiction to fine German automobiles that cost more to maintain than to purchase.
I have an addiction to spending hours reading a BBS on Porsche cars. I can quote certain parts of Bentleys Repair Manual Chapter and Verse. I am a Porscheholic but I can quit any time. Oh, and I hate when people pronounce Porsche as a 1 syllable word. |
MBAtarga - a gift to myself after getting my MBA (and turning 40.)
|
Uhhhhh............ I'm a pilot. Seems to be allot of us, I have a need for speed & G's!
Scott |

A pretty silver 1975, and safety stripes to boot! Oh well... What colour is the 'Bullfrog'? A more modern Porsche colour, or a non-Porsche colour? |
Roux - the basic element in great Cajun cooking. It involves lightly browning oil & flour, then seasoning. It really takes time to make a good roux, it should never be hurried. If prepared correctly, the rest of your dish will be a snap.
