Unknown wiring conectors

Hi Guys
I am assembling a ground up 83 911sc to wide body conversion. I have a couple of mystery connectors here, anyone who has a better idea of hwere these come from or go will make my life soo much easier.
Hopefully this will solve my no power to coil issue, and explain my electrical smoke issue when I cranked the first time, (I hope I didnt smoke a ground back there or something)
1) the first and second photos are wires coming from a harness under the injection somewhere behind the motor
2) the third photo is coming from drivers side fender where the relays are
Please excuse my ignorance on this topic as it is my first porshe project. ( usually design and build helicopter equipment)
Kurt

First one is your green wire that plugs into the side of the distributor.

2nd may be the unused voltage regulator plug (internal to the alternator in 83) Picture is poor.

#3 plugs into it's mating harness from under the aluminum relay panel in the driver's rear of the engine compartment.

Thank you Bob
I am amazed at this site! first time forum user...
The wire colors on the voltage regulator plug are red w white stripe and brown. is there a way to test that it is indeed associated with the alternator, or should i just tie it up and cary on.....

The distributer plug is screwed.. its a coaxial wire where the insulator coating is weather checked and broken away leaving inner and outer wires shorted together right at the plug and for the majority of the wire the outer casing is bare....
will need to replace, any idea where to find this and where the other end is?
I am assuming under general engineering principals that the outer coax will be the less vulnerable or ground and the inner would be hot or signal. Thus replacing just the conector may for now be a temporary solution, and i can put it on my follow up list for after I have the car running.

You can do the repair on the Green Wire from hell fairly easily.

The first time may be a bit rough, so here is my journey through resolution from several years ago.

78SC ROW - Something broke, now rough idle, surging - (pictures included)

Hope it helps another.

Here is a 928 green wire. Works fine but you will need a connector to tie into you CD plug. If you repair your wire you will not need a connector. I believe it splits from the hot (trigger signal - inside) and ground shield right at the Capacitive Discharge box connector where they become female spade connectors in the six pin set up.

I will get a pic of the v reg connector tomorrow.

V-Reg connector. I have an 81 so external V reg was standard. I am assuming your car carried the same harness as mine. Not totally sure.

White connector (your second photo)

Green wire from 928 and connector - Note length. Connector is not required if you cut the end off and mate it into the CD box plug. I did not want to cut into a new $130 green wire. However, Grady Clay has mentioned that unshielded green (trigger) wire can cause radio interference. I have not noticed this but use an MSD box vs the Bosch like you have. Keep that info in your hip pocket.

That Bosch connector is pretty common and if you can't search and find one I or others have links they can dig up and provide.

Mine is one wire; coax, and plugs directly into distributor comes from harness with no other conectors in between. is there a part number for this variation? I would just splice in the connector but the whole wire is loosing its shielding so better to replace intire wire if I can find it

Thanks for the help bye the way guys.....

Unknown wire conector

The first picture is the wire that connects to the AFS switch behind the injector. You can find the switch inside the air chamber and it acts like a float. It breaks the ground to the fuel pump after vacuum is built up. You can actually reach around the left side of the engine and get back to the connector. I know because I did it yesterday. It just plugs in.

First pic from OP is the distributor signal wire. Are you talking about the second pic because that one is not a good pic? kurthiebert - have you confirmed what your 2nd pic wire is for?

The coax signal wire that you can purchase have the connector on the end like I posted above. I do not know why that is, but it is what it is. Sorry I did not make that clear. I believe it is too short also.

The parts catalog (which you can access) shows the correct "green wire" in the catalog as part number 930 602 907 01. Pelican sells the wire but if I remember correctly, it is too short. Link below says 8". That ain't going to make it to the CD box but the 928 green wire will. If you are able to remove the connector off the 928 wire connector and solder the shielding and inner wire to their terminals inside the CD box plug connector you are in business just like before. I said above I did not want to cut a $130 wire and that is why I rigged mine up that way.

928 connector link is above in an earlier post.

Here is the parts catalog. It is a US catalog. I can e-mail you the ROW parts catalog or the whole set can be purchased here inexpensively.
