I didn't have to call them, they, Porsche, called me. I got a call from a lady that said my C of A had very little information on the car and asked me if I wanted to still go ahead with the purchase. She " C of A" said that sometimes you get all the information on a car and sometimes it is like the photo above. It was nice they gave me the option to order or not. They, C of A, had never heard of that code/group D 15.

US Equipment & Option Group D15 are two separate options. Tow hook in rear as an option is interesting; I thought that was standard equipment. Anyway, the best thing to do is to look over the car carefully to see what equipment it does have. Then we can try to figure out what might be part of D15. I wonder if that was a dealer specific group of options. Knowing the selling dealer might help.

11-01-71 was when it was first sold by Import Motors Ltd, 2660 28th Street SE Grand Rapids MI 49508 delivered with 41 miles.. the things that I see I have that are a bit odd are: No deco strip, black grills in front, OEM tinted windows, chrome big size trim ring with one hole on the bottom is painted the color of the car. Car has back heated window, durant mirror, Frankfurt radio, tow hook in front, Hella fogs. Here are a few photos as it sits right after taking possession.. aftermarket window tint is now gone. I am 4th owner and have full records from day one. Had repaint in 2002. Black mirror has been replaced with Durant mirror. Black lettering is not correct. Ansa Type exhaust I have never seen on a 911 before. Black engine grill is wrong style and year. interior is in line with photos of 1970T car.

While not original, given its age, its not suprising to see that intervening owners have wanted to put their own style on the car.. and popular upgrades would have been blacked out trim to make the car look newer/more modern. I've seen ANSA exhausts on the early cars before.. more often on 914/912s than on 911s, but clearly there was a market for them.

Never heard of D15.. But I have to think the early car registry would know.

There is a LWB car (70 or 71) near me with the same ANSA exhaust. Owner says it's always had it and I'm pretty sure it was also originally delivered in MI.
