Front carpet question (and don't laugh)
 This is the only piece of "carpet" between me and the sheet metal floorpan. Is it the carpet, or the floor mat? It's not glued down.

PorscheGAL is right, that's all there is.
On my floors I put down 1/4 inch closed cell foam with an MLV (Mass Loaded Vinyl) backing. It cut down on road noise considerably. No gluing - just laid it down.
