If I want to service my car's A/C myself, what equipment do I need to buy and how much will it cost me for a basic kit? I want to pump down the system and hold a vacuum for 30 minutes. Nick

I bought the basic vacuum pump and manifild gauges from Harbour Frieght, you can pick them up on offer for a total of just over $100.

I completely renewed my system with one from retro-aire and the pump did the job excellently, two years on and I have not had to add any R134.
